Diet & Care
- Diet: Omnivore. Provide a high-quality mix of cichlid pellets or flakes, supplemented with blanched vegetables (like peas or zucchini) and frozen foods (brine shrimp, bloodworms).
- Tank Mates: Pairs well with other peaceful or semi-aggressive fish like Geophagus, Angelfish, Rainbowfish, and larger peaceful tetras. Avoid keeping them with tiny nano-fish or overly aggressive cichlid species.
- Maintenance: Because they are large, messy eaters, strong filtration and weekly partial water changes are recommended to keep water quality pristine.
